Beware if your staff think Windows has always been around

There are many things to consider while building your sales organization and one of them is the age of your staff. Most people in their 20s don't remember the days of DOS, for them Windows has always been around. In the same way, social networking is a crucial part of most younger people's life. Texting and tweeting takes place much more than a phone call or even email, and, if a call is made, it's usually on a cell phone and not a land line.
In the same way, while the more experienced members of your sales organization will remember the days when a computer virus was enough to shut down your network for hours, even days. The younger age group who grew up with computers are used to a virus being cleaned up before it even hits your computer – it's something that you read about online after a security file has bee distributed.
With this kind of climate it would be easy for your staff to spend time on social networks during their work day, and that can mean downloading photos, videos, and music files. While there is an ongoing debate regarding the quality of work if one allows staff to conduct their personal communication during work time, the fact remains that your computer network is vulnerable to hackers and viruses.
Educate all your staff about the need to remain vigilant and keep the computer system protected.
